Framework:
• Structuring Number: A Deeper Understanding to Develop Additive Reasoning” with Loree Silvis, Pre-K to 3;
Cornerstone Mathematics Consulting (“CORNERSTONE”) will provide eight 3 ˝ -hour workshops focusing on early numeracy and additive reasoning on each of the above dates. This workshop series entitled “Structuring Number for Constructing an Understanding of Additive Reasoning” is applicable for pre-kindergarten through 2nd grade teachers and will review key components of early numeracy development, explore the patterns in the language of number and the inconsistencies that are inherent in the language, the underlying structures of fives and tens in our number system and how the development of these concepts can lead to a deeper understanding our base-ten system and increase additive reasoning. Opportunities to explore and create materials and tools, design and play games, and examine ways to assess student knowledge and use of strategies to guide student understanding and increase student fluency will be provided at each workshop.
• OGAP (Ongoing Formative Assessment) in Multiplicative Reasoning with Marge Petit, 3 to 6;
• Common Assessment Work with Aldo Bianchi, 5-12, Computational Fluency, Proportional Reasoning, Algebra, Geometry.
